#SecretaríaDeCultura.- The ORIGINAL Advisory Council held its first meeting of 2023 in Oaxaca, where a balance was made of the previous year’s Mexican Textile Art Encounter and agreements were reached for the one to be held this year.

It is important to remember that the Advisory Council, among its functions, which it performs on a voluntary basis, include, among others, accompanying planning, contributing proposals, sharing good practices and successful experiences that should be exhibited, placing traditional and indigenous creators at the center of decisions at all times.

Its members are Alberto López Gómez, Carmen Vásquez, Cándida Fernández de Calderón, Francisca Palafox, Hilan Cruz Cruz, Ignacio Nazahualcoyotl, Jan Cristhian Mata Ferrer, Juana Bravo Lázaro, Justino Damiano Domínguez, Miguel Sosme, Nancy Ignacia Carvajal García, Natividad Estela Zárate, Pedro Meza, Remigio Mestas, Teresa Lino, Todos Los Santos Dolores (Tere) Villalobos Vigil, Valentina Torres Molina and Victorina López Hilario, as well as the federal Secretary of Culture, Alejandra Frausto Guerrero; the general director of the National Institute of Indigenous Peoples, Adelfo Regino, and Senator Susana Harp.

During her message, the federal Secretary of Culture, Alejandra Frausto Guerrero, congratulated everyone for the work done and called for the quality of the event and the pieces on offer to be maintained over time, as well as to achieve greater representativeness, and to work with more cooperatives and collectives.
